75 SHOTS
Scholarship Program

Empowering LGBTQ+ filmmakers living under oppression, our mentorship helps you find your voice, develop your storytelling skills, and connect with a global community that refuses to be silenced. Through hands-on smartphone filmmaking, collaborative projects, and ongoing guidance, participants explore visual storytelling as a tool for resistance, healing, and artistic transformation.

ABOUT

The Scholarship Program supports queer artists living in countries where homosexuality is criminalized. More than a filmmaking course, it is a space for confidence-building, meaningful connection, and artistic empowerment.

Participants are guided to create films with purpose — learning how to tell collective stories while collaborating safely across borders. Here, storytelling is not only about craft; it is about resistance, healing, and transformation.

  • Demonstrate a clear commitment to filmmaking

“75 SHOTS, for me, is an opportunity for LGBTI people to express themselves artistically, in countries where being ourselves puts us in danger. It is an international connection, which links us together by learning new skills and creating films reflecting our stories.

75 SHOTS allowed me to express myself in many forms while working for the community. This is what I have wanted for years, to combine art and human rights. It also allowed me to communicate with people from different countries experiencing the same realities as myself, despite languages, time differences or circumstances. I hope that our projects expand into a real global artistic LGBTI network.”

The main subject is a non binary black person's head and shoulder in b/w. Their haircut is short and shaved on the side. It is a cartoon illustration. There is a hand holding a smartphone in front of the subject in landscape mode. The index finger and thumb are all that you can see from the hand and it's in the same b/w colour as the subject with silver undertones. The frame of the phone is golden colour. The screen of the phone is cracked and ressembles a damaged windshield that has been broken by a fallen rock/pebble from a truck on the highway. The colour image on the screen of the phone, focuses on the naked eyes cheekbone and pierced nose. It’s in the radiant colour of the rainbow The mouth is in b/w as it is outside the frame of the smartphone. Illustration by Wacyl Kha 75 SHOTS founding member. Queer Cinema from the Global South
