Dear Friends,
It’s been a busy few weeks, moments of triumph and challenge reminding us that progress is never guaranteed. Saint Lucia struck down colonial-era laws criminalizing same-sex intimacy, while in Trinidad & Tobago and Burkina Faso, courts reinstated bans. These shifts show both the fragility of our rights and the courage of artists, activists, and organizers advancing visibility, justice, and protection for LGBTQ+ communities. Amid these changes, solidarity is everything. 75 SHOTS is doing our part: through our films and programs, we amplify queer BIPOC voices from the Global South and diaspora, sharing stories of survival, love, and resilience.
What’s New at 75 SHOTS
New Films Arriving This December! Our programming committee, made up of members living in or directly affected by oppressive regimes, has just selected powerful new works for our collection. To celebrate, we’re opening the curtain for everyone: Starting in December, one of our newest acquisitions will be available FREE for an entire weekend, followed by a live online Q&A with the filmmaker.
Be the first to experience bold new cinema from our archive and meet the creators shaping it. Follow us for updates.
Pocket Cinema Productions Our collaborative video project captures intimate gestures with migrant queer artists and members in restrictive contexts, protecting anonymity while sharing intimate stories.
Intergenerational Film Project Production began in South Africa, Kenya, and Tanzania, and is now starting to take shape, promising moving stories across generations.
Devices on the Way
Thanks to generous donors, new devices are already on their way to Jamaica, supporting our members recovering after Hurricane Melissa. Your contributions turn simple tools into lifelines, keeping creative voices alive, connected, and able to keep making work in the hardest conditions. Thank you to everyone who donated devices, and to our subscribers who stand with us month after month. We’re aiming for 1,000 subscribers by the end of the year, a small amount with a big impact: $3.99/month or $39.99/year CAD.
Your support uplifts queer artists worldwide and builds space for under-represented stories to be told. If you want to get involved or have questions, we’re always here. Follow us for updates and behind-the-scenes moments:

Help Us Share the Love
If you’re traveling to Tanzania, Dubai, Zimbabwe, Ghana, South Africa, Amsterdam, Germany, Sweden, Paris, or London, let us know! We have equipment, books, and gifts that need to be transported to our members. You can also give new life to your old devices by turning them into powerful tools for freedom of expression. Upcycle them to empower disenfranchised voices, helping others connect, learn, and thrive, don’t let those devices collect dust!
Stay Warm,
The 75 SHOTS Pocket Cinema Family
